Legendary Damnation of Adam Blessing Return For Two Concerts In NE Ohio

(Cleveland, OH) The Damnation of Adam Blessing will return to perform two concerts in NE Ohio. On Friday April 27th the band will play the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH and Saturday April 28th at the Tangier in Akron, OH.

Cleveland acid rock combo the Damnation of Adam Blessing was formed in 1968 from the ashes of a pair of local garage bands, the Society and Dust, led by frontman Adam Blessing (Bill Constable), his brother Ken Constable, guitarists Jim Quinn and Bob Kalamasz, bassist Ray Benich, and drummer Bill Schwark. The band signed with United Artist Records in 1969 and went on to record four albums for the label. Their albums produced such hits as Morning Dew, Back to the River, Cookbook and Last Train to Clarksville.

The group toured extensively from coast to coast and was one of the busiest opening acts in the business performing with such greats as Eric Clapton, Grand Funk Railroad, Bob Seeger, Alice Cooper, Uriah Heap, Traffic, Iggy Pop, The James Gang and many more. From the Village Gate in NYC to The Whiskey A-Go-Go in Los Angeles, the band played nonstop and finally disbanded in 1972 after completing their last Album “Glory”.

After a 28 year hiatus, in 2000, the Damnation of Adam Blessing returned to it’s hometown of Cleveland to perform to a record breaking crowd at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 5th Anniversary celebration.

Akarma Records in Italy has re-issued all four albums on CD and in September of 2006 released Damnation of Adam Blessing – Plus, which included rare live performances from the band’s 1970 tour.

“We promise to make these performances very memorable for all who attend.” “We’re going to play all the favorites and we’re looking forward to seeing old and new friends and fans on what is perhaps the last time we will get together in concert.” Remarks lead singer Adam Blessing. Guest musicians include Josh Cochran-Percussion, Mark Matthews-Bass, Jim Smith-Keyboards and Guitar.
